The word "vivere" is derived from Latin, meaning "to live" or "to be alive".

In my latest portrait painting, Vivere is an African woman with mysterious green eyes and full luscious lips.  She has a small smile at the corner of her mouth revealing a spark of pleasure or a hint of intrigue.  My newest painting, and my first for May 2020, is a culmination of my two artistic obsessions: skin tones and foliage.  Monstera plants in tropical colours, against olive, pink and apricot tones of her skin offset each other in this interesting composition almost resembling immersion in a jungle.  Her green eyes were the final touch to this painting, and give her expression a certain sparkle.
