Happiness on the canvas today - gum leaves dancing on pure linen with pretty pink flowers and lovely purple gum nuts; stunning beauty of our native flora in a unique take on a familiar botanical composition.
Living in a small rural town allows me to take in the beauty of this rugged and much-loved landscape.
This painting was mostly created with many layers of oil paint using a palette knife so the texture is luscious and thick, particularly on the leaves themselves. The natural weave of the linen created by the negative space in the painting forms part of the overall look.
I have included some 'In situ' photos, which help us imagine art in our home. Feel free to reach out with pictures of your own space and I can virtually hang the painting for you. In situ photos provided here were created using various apps and may not be perfectly to scale. Photos depicting framed art are for illustrative purposes for your interest and consideration.
