Rich reds and muted dark green and teal have been used to depict the trees which flower profusely in my local town Seymour. Flowering gum trees feature in our parks, naturestrips and gardens, and provide an annual feast for honey bees and wattle birds. They are truly a stunning sight when in full bloom.
 
My artistic style is impressionist and loose, where colours may not be photo-perfect but instead provide a sense of movement and space. This artwork was created over the course of several sunny days in winter as I recalled the sight of these trees in the height of summer.
