It blew an absolute gale the day that I painted this sketch of the countryside. During my session, I retreated to inside the car numerous times to paint - hardly ideal - but the resultant artwork is intuitive, messy and abstracty.

I finished the painting in the comfort of my studio, where I added more layers of blue-green to give the painting more of a feeling of dusk or twilight.

It would look sensational framed, however this is not absolutely necessary as the painting is ready to hang, right out of the box. The edges of the canvas have been painted a kind of burgundy/dusty purple colour, which contrasts against the predominantly blue-green colour of the painting. Framing can be arranged for an additional cost.

The canvas itself is high quality, with strong stretcher bars, and the cotton canvas is triple primed and quite thick at 380gsm. I only invest in top quality gallery standard canvases for my art.

I have included some 'In situ' photos, which help us imagine art in our home. Feel free to reach out with pictures of your own space and I can virtually hang the painting for you. In situ photos provided here were created using various apps and may not be perfectly to scale. Photos depicting framed art are for illustrative purposes for your interest and consideration.

I hope you love my study of the countryside. It really is ‘just a sketch’ and therefore priced accordingly, but still lovely in its own right.
